Thank you to our Veterans!

Can you spare 15 minutes of your time in 2015?  It is a "pittance of time" compared to a veteran’s years of service - a mere "pittance of time" compared to eternity….

Note: Best when viewed "Full Screen"…. [Click on video Play-arrow > Hover mouse on lower right of screen which should display 'Full Screen' with a small box, click on that box. To get out of "Full Screen" view, just hover mouse on upper right of screen & click "Exit."]

The Forgotten Army - Animals in WWI - A Tribute

Using Pathé's WWI footage, this tribute film thanks the forgotten army of WWI. Millions of animals gave their lives. They were selected for their variety of natural skills and instincts and they displayed unwavering courage even when exposed to extreme conditions. Credit: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=I_L5tQerJwA

Bob Hope was without a doubt one of the greatest entertainers of our time. Here is a wonderful look at some special moments Bob spent with the troops during his many Christmas performances. Thank You to all the Veterans who served us* and ever spent a Christmas away from their family... and to Bob Hope for spending his Christmas with the troops through much of our lifetime.

*In Classmate Profiles: Did you know that our fellow classmates who are veterans are designated with a flag icon following their name?

From the Veterans Day Tribute (11/11/13):

Did you know.... that our classmates who served in the military have a flag icon next to their names (in Classmate Profiles ) ?

Did you know... that Veterans Day originated on 11/11/18 and eventually expanded to incorporate all military personnel who served our country, both in war and peace?

It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. -- Wikipedia

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR VETERANS NOT JUST TODAY, BUT EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR!

Take a few moments out of your busy day to remember and honor them:

Please take a moment to thank them, even if it is only in a heartfelt thought or silent prayer or to send them a big spiritual group hug of gratitude:

...and of course, "thank you" on behalf of

 "those with no voice"....
