Kery W. Uplinger, 56, of Drums passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning at Berwick Hospital, Berwick.

Born in Hazleton on Oct. 12, 1955, he was the son of Ruth (Reakes) Uplinger, St. Johns, and the late William Uplinger, and spent the past 36 years in Drums after moving from St. Johns.

He was employed as a union electrician in Wilkes-Barre.

Kery also was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns.

Kery loved the outdoors and especially loved trout fishing.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his father, by his wife, Mary.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, is a sister, Marcia Wenner, St. Johns.

All services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hazleton Animal Shelter, 101 N. Poplar St., Hazleton, PA 18201, or St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns, PA 18247.

Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
